This was the photographer's strong vision. Loved the focus on the rain and the silhouetted face falling out of focus. This image has a real artistic quality. Nicely done.
Beautiful photograph. Very well done detail. The light and dark tones balance perfectly.
I couldn’t rest the deviousness of this detail. This photo continued to rise through the ranks until taking it’s winning throne. But isn’t it amazing that the entire image rests upon the glisten of a singular trail of rain on the man’s jacket? It all comes down to that one glistening highlight to make the image what it is.

The light and color enhanced the windy moment in this photo. Everything came together to give this frame energy and whimsy.
I really like all the faces and the four blonde heads. Might even be more compelling if it was shot a little tighter so that the texture became even more of a focal point.
One hardly knows where to begin or end with this whoosh of wind whipping hair to and fro, left to right and beyond to dreams and mirth turning all to a magical gust of wind - nature’s hairstylist at work.

A beautiful storm looms as backdrop to a beautiful wedding. It’s the perfect match for a perfect day. But on slightly less romantic note, don’t you just love the way the minister’s gown is filling with the turbulent air of the arriving storm? Let’s all hope together that this isn’t the omens of marriage lurking. Nawww. The scene is far too beautiful to be that - the photographer has seen to it.

This technique gets used a lot, so the light and composition needs to be perfect for this kind of image to be effective. This image worked.
Great light, texture, color. Her body language is what makes it, though.

Ohhh man, there couldn’t be a worse moment for a splash of dirty gutter water. There’s no sugar in this scene as bride and groom face an early battle together.

Love the sheer spontaneity of this image. It was also well composed and good lensing. The photo would have been nice without the wind gust, but that just made it better.

A shallow depth of field has the focus transfixed on raindrops adorning the glass of an open limousine door. The skies have now opened to sun and beauty, but the water droplets tell the succinct story of a wedding day, which survived in beauty and rich style…just like this image.

Love the movement of the veil. Nice light, too. There's so much potential in this category, I wish more people entered it.

Keeping up with a bride and groom on a wedding day can at times certainly be challenging. In this capture the bridal party came straight out of the church and into a windy laneway leading down towards the CBD of Melbourne, Australia. As I stood in the middle of the road, at my left was a large rubbish truck trying to get past, blasting his horn at me. Knowing I was safe, I ignored his demands and held my ground. I knew I had but seconds to grab this amazing moment that was unfolding. I will go to almost any lengths, so long as I judge it safe for myself and others, to get the shot.

This picture had all the right elements of a good wedding day / weather image – the color is fun, the bride’s reaction is nice and the photographer caught the moment during the gust of wind. Nice job.

Smart seeing by focusing on the goose bumps. Gives a real sense of what it was like to be there that day. And really makes me feel bad for this bride.

Some say rain on a wedding day is a sigh of good luck. I find it also adds to the overall excitement and unpredictability of the day. In this capture a very attentive best man decided to shield the groom from the rain whilst they took time out for a beer and cigarette. I positioned myself lower to ground level because I wanted to reveal the underneath of the umbrella for a better effect. Whilst I got a little wet, it was certainly worth the effort to seize the moment perfectly.
